Reviews and Praise for Rush: Memoir of a Gay Sorority Girl

A Must Read

I LOVE this book. It's so well written and talks about such important things. I really connected with Kristin's story about not even knowing she wasn't straight. It spoke to my heart and soul and made me feel like I was back in college. This book is charming, fun and important. Everyone in college should give it a read! I didn't know much about sorority life but loved learning about it through this book. Most importantly, this book is about discovering your true self and finding meaning along the way. – Marissa G

Frank, Honest, Inspiring Read

Learning about the nature of sororities was fascinating for me as someone totally unfamiliar with this unique cultural aspect of American colleges/universities. Kristin's frank, honest story about her experiences dealing with coming out in such a group and her coming of age is inspiring! - LKAS

A Book for Everyone

Rush is a refreshingly honest coming-of-age tale filled with many humorous and heartwarming moments. I found the bravery and sincerity in Kristin’s story to be quite inspiring. Highly recommended, particularly to anyone who has battled societal or familial expectations in any shape or form. - Jayhawk

Heartfelt Coming of Age and Coming Out Story

I read this book in a day (couldn't put it down) and it really transported me back to college and the early 90's. Kristin's writing drew me into her world - her struggle to figure out her sexuality and how she could fit in during a more conservative and less accepting time. The story chronicles how she managed to be true to herself while dealing with the expectations of society and her sorority. This straightforward and unvarnished memoir is a very brave and inspiring read! – BookClub Babe
